Digisign2 installation instructions (for signing customers only)

Digisign2 is required by conveyancers wanting to sign multiple instruments in a single dealing, as part of the new functionality available in Release 2.10.

Alert! While the current version of Digisign (Digisign1) will work for signing single instruments, surveys and TA certifications in the short-term, this will not be the case in the future.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that all signing customers (conveyancers, surveyors and TA staff) undertake the upgrade to ensure they are operating the version of Digisign that will be supported by LINZ.

You (or your IT support staff or service provider) should download and install the Digisign2 software as soon as possible.

Installation procedure

This page outlines the procedure for installing Digisign2. It only applies to those customers who have signing rights.

How to download and install Digisign2 software
Purpose

Digisign2 is required by conveyancers wanting to sign multiple instruments in a single dealing, as part of the new functionality available in Release 2.10 (8 October 2007 onwards).

It is strongly recommended that all signing customers (conveyancers, surveyors and TA staff) undertake the upgrade during the week of the 8th of October to ensure they are operating the version of Digisign that will be supported by LINZ.

Alert Digisign2 need only be installed for customers with Landonline signing rights. If you do not have signing rights, you do not need to install Digisign2.
Step Description

  • Download Digisign2 software
  • Ensure that you are logged on to your computer and have Administrator Rights
Administrator Rights allow you to change your computer's configuration. If you do not have Administrator Rights, please contact your IT support staff or service provider

  • A File Download screen will appear
  • Choose Save this program to disk
  • Click OK
  • Choose an appropriate location to save the file to. (Take note of the location and filename)
Note

We recommend using the "Save to disk" option as it means that you will not need to download the installation file a second time if you need to reinstall this software on your computer or another computer in the organisation.

3 Once the file has downloaded, open it from the location that you saved it to.
Note

You must be logged in with Administrator rights for this installation

  • When prompted with the Security Warning screen, click Run to install Digising 2

  • We recommend using the Save option as it means that you will not need to download the installation file a second time if you need to reinstall this software on your computer or another computer in the organisation

  • Depending on your computer's configuration, the Download Complete screen may appear once the download has finished
  • If it does appear, click Open to start the installation
  • If it does not appear, go to the location you saved the file to (e.g. your desktop). Then, double-click the file to open it

  • The Wise Installation Wizard will start

  • The installation of the software will begin

  • The installation will continue

  • You will be told that the installation is complete
  • Click Finish to complete the installation

  • The box above will disappear
  • If you have signing rights within Landonline, you will now have the ability to sign from this computer

If you have followed the steps above and received no additional messages, Digisign2 installation will be complete.

Known installation error messages and solutions

There are two known error messages that may appear during the installation procedure. These are highlighted in the table below alongside their solutions. If Digisign2 has installed successfully, you do not need to read this section.

Known error message Solution
Installation cannot continue because you do not have the Citrix ICA Client installed.

You need to install the Citrix ICA Client before you can install Digisign2.

Digisign2 installation will be cancelled.

  • You will need to install the Citrix ICA Client before installing Digisign2
  • For assistance in obtaining Administrator Rights, please contact your IT support staff or service provider to assist with the Citrix ICA Client installation
The file 'C:\PROGRA~1\Citrix\ICACL~1\UNWISE.EXE' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. Access is denied.

  • Depending on your computer's configuration, it may be necessary to have Administrator Rights to be able to complete the installation procedure
  • Administrator Rights allow you to change your computer's configuration (see How to Check Whether You Have Administrator Rights on Your Computer).
  • Your IT support staff or service provider should be able to assist

If you receive any other error messages, or if your IT support staff or service provider requires detailed technical information about the installation, please contact Customer Support on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 4.
