Manually install your Digital Certificate - Stage 1

Use these instructions if you want to manually install a new Digital Certificate (DC).

Before you begin

Before you begin, we recommend you:

  • Install your DC during supported hours so our Customer Support staff can provide immediate assistance or guidance if you have any problems
  • Close all other files and applications on your computer
  • Hold all telephone calls until you have finished
  • Print the instructions before starting.

STAGE 1: Creating a new folder on your C: drive (local drive)

How to create a folder on your C: drive for your new DC
Purpose
  • Create a folder in which to store your new DC
  • Landonline will use this folder
Step Description

  • Right click with your mouse on Start (a pop-up list will appear)
  • Left click with your mouse on Explore

  • Highlight C:\ drive (Local Disk C: or Local Drive). Please note that the exact name may differ on your PC
  • Press Enter on your keyboard

  • Select File
  • Select New
  • Select Folder

  • Type LINZ Certificates
  • Press Enter on your keyboard
  • Close window

Alert
  • If you are unable to create the 'C:\LINZ Certificates' folder on your PC, do not proceed any further
  • Please contact your IT support staff or service provider or call the Customer Support team on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 4 for immediate assistance
Note
  • You have now completed Stage 1 and created your LINZ Certificates folder
  • Now you need to import your new DC into the web browser on your firm's system
