Before you begin...

We recommend you:

  • Download and install your DC during supported hours so our Customer Support staff can provide immediate assistance or guidance if you have any problems
  • Close all other files and applications on your computer
  • Hold all telephone calls until you have finished
  • Print the instructions before starting.

Loading or Renewing your Digital Certificate (DC) using the DC Loader Wizard

STEP 1: Download the DC Loader wizard v2.0.1.0 (1.6MB)
Purpose
  • The DC Loader wizard is the easiest way to load and install a DC for the first time, reload a DC, complete your annual renewal process, or complete the transfer of your DC from one computer to another.
  • The DC Loader wizard makes downloading and installing DCs much simpler and faster, in fewer than 10 steps and takes less than 10 minutes of your time.
Alert
  • The DC Loader wizard has been developed to be used with the environments that LINZ supports.
  • Information on supported environments is included in System support policies: what LINZ supports.
  • If your firm is using a non-supported environment (e.g. Macintosh), you will need to rely on your IT support staff or service provider to help you with any technical issues. LINZ is unable to assist you.
  • LINZ recommends you verify the integrity of the DC Loader wizard executable. See DC Loader wizard Verisign protection for more information.
Instructions
  • Open the DC Loader Wizard

During this download process you may receive firewall and safecom prompts. It is important that you respond when requested to avoid this process failing and your codes becoming invalid.

  • Once the DC Loader Wizard has downloaded, follow the on-screen prompts.
Download

Download the DC Loader Wizard v2.0.1.0 now (.exe file)

(If you wish, you can view the screens that you will see when using DC Loader (pdf 133KB).)

Alert Please ensure you do not use the Caps Lock button when entering your passphrase as this will cause errors when importing or exporting your DC, and when signing.
STEP 2: Load or renew your DC
Purpose Install a new or renewed DC on your computer
Alert
  • Your DC Authorisation Code and DC Reference Number are 'one use only' codes to protect the security of the DC process
  • This means loading cannot be stopped then re-started
  • If DC installation is halted, new codes will need to be issued by the Digital Certificate Support team.
  • If, for any reason, the loading process stops, please call the Digital Certificate Support team on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 4.
Before You Begin Before you begin loading your DC, please ensure you have the following items available:
  • Your DC Authorisation Code, which the Digital Certificate Support team will have emailed to you
  • Your DC Reference Number, which the Digital Certificate Support team will have emailed to your firm's Trusted Contact. If you are a single-person firm or your firm's Trusted Contact, please call the Digital Certificate Support team on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) - select option 4 - for your reference code.
  • Your Landonline User ID which was supplied to you when your firm received its Landonline licence.
  • Please ensure you do not use the Caps Lock button when entering your passphrase as this will cause errors when importing or exporting your DC, and when signing.
Instructions The DC Loader Wizard will guide you through loading your new DC or renewed DC.
