External Survey Release Notes for 2.5 Release – 12 November 2004

Release notes for the following subsystems are listed below;

MAR 277 – Near marks report for traverse marks

MAR 277 Description

Near marks report for traverse marks.

Explanation

Surveyors are required to link their traverse (as well as boundary) marks to the corresponding mark in Landonline. If the surveyor did not link the marks it was possible that duplicate marks were created in Landonline.

MAR 277 Enhancement

This enhancement provides a check for traverse marks not linked to Landonline and displays the report as a Y Rule warning in the pre-validation report.
Y023 Rule Wording in Pre-validation Report

Y024 - Warning - The following marks could possibly be duplicate occurrences of other marks already in Landonline:

MAR 432 - Spatial searching

MAR 432 Description

Requirement to open spatial window if not open and a spatial search is selected.

Explanation

If the spatial window was not open when a spatial search was initiated the user did not get advised the spatial window was required to be open until all the search criteria had been entered. The user was then required to cancel the search and open the spatial window and then re-enter the search criteria.

MAR 432 Enhancement

Landonline V2.5 now allows the user to conduct a spatial search if the spatial window is not open. Landonline will automatically open the spatial window if it is not open.

MAR 454 – Plan (Survey) references

MAR 454 Description

Ability to add more than six plan (survey) references.

Explanation

Landonline allows the user to add plan (survey) references in the spatial window to indicate to other users of Landonline that there is a survey in the vicinity. A minimum of 1 reference had to be placed. A maximum of six could be placed.

Six plan (survey) references in some instances did not allow the user to fully identify their survey in the Landonline spatial network. For example Control Surveys may require more plan (survey) references.

MAR 454 Enhancement

Landonline V2.5 now allows the user add up to a maximum of 20 plan (survey) references in the spatial window.

MAR 517 – Enhancement 517

MAR 517 E – 517 Description

Enhancement 517

Add a new Y Rule in pre-validation to ensure the user has clicked ‘Complete' to generate new tiff images rather than just saving the XML files back to the database

Explanation

Landonline will compare the last saved Layout that was used to create the images with the current saved Layout.

When the user opens up Layout Plan Sheet screen they will need to click ‘Complete' to ensure the latest layout has been saved as tiff images.

Y023 is a fatal rule failure that needs to be complied with to allow the e-survey to be submitted.

Y023 Rule Wording in Pre-validation Report

Y023 - Fatal - A graphic of this survey has been changed but not been regenerated. Ensure a Digital Plan Diagram is regenerated.

MAR 517 – Enhancement 498

MAR 517 E – 498 Description

Enhancement 498

Allow the C Rules (business rules) to run without the need to carry out plan generation first.

Explanation

Prior to Landonline V2.5 the C Rules did not run until the user had carried out Plan Generation and included a survey reference in the spatial window.

Landonline V2.5 allows the C Rules to run allowing the user to identify possible errors and correct them before carrying out Plan Generation.

Y014, Y021 and Y023 can fail and the C Rules will run. If the C rules run and Y014, Y021 and Y023 fail then the plan generation P Rules will not run.

Pre-validation report

*** The following rules are preventing the Submission of the Survey Dataset:

Y014 - Fatal - The number of plan reference points for this survey dataset is out of range. Ensure the number of plans reference points is between 1 and 20.
Plan Reference Points: 0

Y021 - Fatal - A graphic of this survey has not been generated. Ensure a Digital Plan Diagram is generated.

Y023 - Fatal - A graphic of this survey has been changed but not been regenerated. Ensure a Digital Plan Diagram is regenerated.

*** The following rules indicate a conflict in the Survey Dataset or in Landonline which will need to be resolved before approval

C41 - Submission Topology Validations:

MAR 523 – Land Transfer e-survey digital plans

MAR 523 Description

Amend wording on e-survey Land Transfer plans from Registered Date to Deposit Date.

Explanation

The Registrar General of Lands requires Land Transfer e-survey digital plans to display Deposit Date rather than Registered Date.

MAR 523 Enhancement

The Digital Survey Plan and Digital Title Plan for a Land Transfer e-survey will display Deposit Date on the header (first) page.

Issue The Deposit Date field for e-surveys is incorrectly displaying the date when the status of the survey is changed to deposited, when it should be displaying the lodgement date of the dealing that has caused the survey to deposit. This issue was realized too late to be rectified for the 2.5 Landonline release and will be attended to no later than the next release.

TPR 5500 - Plan generation error message 100692

TPR 5500 Description

Plan generation will not re-open and creates error message 100692 Unable to delete the record because it is referenced by other items.

Explanation

For the user to get this error message they have created an e-survey and defined diagrams and laid them out. The survey may for example have traverse, primary and non-primary observations. The user then decided that the non-primary observations are not required and they are deleted.

However plan generation has non-primary diagrams created previously that it is looking for the next time user attempts to open plan generation.

TPR Fix

The fix for this TPR will ensure that any diagrams previously created are removed by Landonline if the observations are deleted.

TPR 5724 - User edits in Layout Plan Sheets not being saved

TPR 5724 Description

User edits in Layout Plan Sheets screen are not being saved when edits are made in capture.

Explanation

When diagrams are laid in the out Layout Plan Sheets screen the user can edit the diagrams by moving diagram labels and distorting the diagrams to make them clearer. If any edits are made in any of the capture screens the information moved in the Layout Plan Sheets screen will revert to the original position indicating the changes have not been correctly saved.

TPR Fix

The fix for this TPR will ensure that any data moved in the Layout Plan Sheets screen will retain the new positions after edits are made in capture.
