Detailed Information on changes to Landonline following 2.6 release
Landonline Release 2.10 update for conveyancers
The journey to 100% e-lodgement continues with Release 2.10 containing a number of enhancements.
The benefits for you
Within Release 2.10, you will already start to see some of the benefits being introduced. The key benefits are...
- Increased efficiency when certifying and signing multiple instrument dealings with a reduction in duplication, effort and time.
- Separate preparation of the A&I form is removed. The form can be pre-populated with details entered into Landonline thereby reducing duplication and error with information coming from a single source. You will be able to print A&I forms on a client by client basis as required and will need to save them to your computer.
- A further 17 discharge and withdrawal instruments will be added.
- A 'Help' button will now show you how to complete the screen you are working in.
Changes
Release 2.10 introduces new functionality as well as updates to the layout of some e-dealing screens in preparation for future e-dealing instruments.
Functionality changes include...
- Certifying and signing of multiple instruments in a single e-dealing.
- Pre-populating the A&I form from within Landonline.
- Key screen updates include the new 'Help' button, which will display on every screen and the 'Preview Instrument' buttons that will display on every instrument screen.
To prepare conveyancers for Release 2.10, LINZ e-dealing trainers will be travelling the country outlining how these changes will benefit firms. These sessions are targeted at conveyancers with certify and sign rights and the e-dealing champion within each firm. To attend a Release 2.10 presentation session, please contact LINZ on linzcomms@linz.govt.nz.
To become familiar with all the changes in Release 2.10, we encourage you to discuss these changes with other Landonline users.
Take a look at the new screens below. We have highlighted the key changes you will notice.
About certifying and signing multiple instruments
- Certification can be completed in one screen for all instruments in an e-dealing.
- You no longer have to check each certification check box in each instrument that previously involved at least four certifications per instrument. It also reduces the need to enter your password and passphrase for every instrument in the dealing.
- Instruments that are ready to be signed can be signed at any time.
About the Certify and Sign screens
a - Each instrument in the dealing will be represented by its own tab.
- All tabs will generally be able to be displayed within the one screen.
- You will be able to go directly to the certifications without the need to scroll through the instrument.
About the certifications areas
b - There are now two types of certification check boxes.
- The standard (default) certifications have been grouped together, will appear in the Certify screen, and only need to be checked once.
- A new area has been created for special certifications such as caveator's consent. Any special certification will have its own tick box.
Certify and Sign in three easy steps
- You should work through each instrument tab (note: this can be done in any order and at any stage during the preparation of a dealing).

- Once all certifications are complete, click the 'Sign' button located at the bottom of the Certify and Sign screen.

- A list of all the instruments you have certified in this session displays. You check a box to indicate that you have read and understood each instrument in the list. You are then prompted once for your password and passphrase to enable signing of all the instruments listed.

Creating the A&I form within Landonline
c - The 'Create A&I Form' screen only contains the necessary information needed for inclusion in the A&I form. All standard (or static) text on the printed form is not shown on the screen.
d - Three options are provided – private individual, private corporate, and public corporate. The private individual form will display by default.
Although the A&I form can be created at any stage after the dealing has been successfully saved, it is advisable to create the A&I form at the end of preparing all instruments in the dealing. This enables all information saved in Landonline to pre-populate the form by default.
e - Fields in the 'Create A&I Form' screen are able to be edited, however, any information you enter manually is not saved in Landonline. This is because the 'Create A&I Form' screen does not store any data in the Landonline database.
f - Once the detail of the A&I form is complete – it can be printed, reviewed or saved onto your own computer system. When one of these actions is completed, you are returned to the 'Create A&I Form' screen where you can close the screen, enter further details or select another client.
g - When you close the 'Create A&I Form' screen, a message will appear reminding you the information in the A&I form is not saved in Landonline.
New discharge instrument
The drop down list in the 'Create Dealing' screen will show all 33 instruments capable of being discharged by e-dealing.
Note: Other discharge instruments will be available in future releases scheduled in 2008.
New buttons
There are two new buttons...
h - The 'Help' button links you directly to a step by step walk through and detailed explanation of each field for the screen you are working on. This is your immediate 'online' information tool and should be used first if you have a query.
i - The 'Certify and Sign' button is detailed above.
Changes to existing buttons
j - The 'Preview Instrument' button will now allow you to view an instrument regardless of what stage of prepare it is in.
k - The 'Release' button has been changed and replaced with the 'Certify and Sign' button and process – see above for details. Note: it will automatically change to Release once signed.
l - The 'Restore' button will now be visible on all prepare screens.
m - The 'Alias' button will now be called 'Alias / Other'. It will also provide additional functionality to include information such as name suffix and minors' details.
Prepare Transfer screen
n - A new button called 'Display Resulting Ownership' has been added into this screen. This shows names and shares (if any) that will show on the title (including any existing names).
