Landonline Release 3.3 update for surveyors and territorial authorities

This release includes enhancements for both suveyors and territorial authorities.

For surveyors

New Plan Generation enhancements include:

  • Improved Plan Generation layout preparation – surveyors will be able to open layout sheets in background mode themselves for extra large plans, rather than raising a call with LINZ and having to wait overnight for the script to run. This will save the surveyor time and provide greater convenience. This new functionality, and the running of Plan Generation, have been moved to a new tab page. See MAR 1460
  • Offline Plan Generation Phase 1 – in preparation for Offline Plan Generation in May 2010, new functionality to support the export and import of data to and from Offline Plan Generation has been developed. This will not be active until Release 3.4 but is available to support testing of the offline application once it is completed.

For territorial authorities

Enhancements to TA e-certification include:

  • The addition of the Section 245 certificate. See MAR 1257
  • The ability to edit 220(1)(b) amalgamation condition certificates. This will enable the legal access words to be deleted if required. See MAR 1075 and MAR 1105
  • Increasing the size of the 'Manage TA' screen (CSL_S07a). See MAR 1106

Maintenance changes

MAR 1075 - Re-format the 220(1)b Certificate Amalgamation Condition

MAR 1075 Problem The detail of the text in the 220(1)b Certificate remains accurate though the formatting is incorrect. Traditionally, the wording would indicate that the new parcel is to be transferred to the owner of the old parcel. The current text indicates that the old parcel is transferring to the owner of the new parcel.

An amendment is required to rearrange the Field Names in the Certificate Fields so that New Lot and new CT occupy the first two lines and populate the opening blank fields of the Certificate preview.

MAR 1075
The Certificate text of the attached example should read: "That Lot 2 Plan DP 358210 (CT 237260) be transferred to the owner of Lot 8 Plan DP 4264 (CT MB2D/452) and that one Computer Register be issued to include both parcels. See 468802."
MAR 1075 Outcome The 220(1)b Certificate Amalgamation Condition has been reformatted to display the Certificate Text correctly.

MAR 1105 - IProvide edit facilities in the 220(i) (b) (iv) certificate that allows the (legal access) component to be deleted. Make the text '(legal access)' editable text in TA Certificate 220(1)(b)(iv).

MAR 1105 Problem The certificate is currently too restrictive in preventing users from utilising this certificate where parcels to be held as multiple divided shares have a purpose other than Legal access.

The TA Certification templates are not editable except for pre-defined editable fields such as Dates and Territorial Authority name. There are no additional editable fields. The requirements in this case refer to constant text components which have been agreed by TA representatives and the RGL.
MAR 1105 Outcome The text '(legal access)' has been made editable text in TA Certificate 220(1)(b)(iv) by inclusion of a new Field name "legal access" with free text Field value.

MAR 1106 - Territorial Authorities and Surveyors

MAR 1106 Problem CSL_S07a Manage TA Screen size is considered too small. Customer commented it would be a good idea to be able to maximise the screen (or somehow be able to see the whole certificate when drafting up a long certificate), otherwise you have to scroll up and down, and it is hard just being able to view 2-3 lines at a time.
MAR 1106 Outcome Increase the size of the Certificate text box to improve viewing. Benefit: Full text visible in one session.

MAR 1257 - Make the Section 245 Certificate available to TA and Survey Users in the TA Certificate tables available in TA Workspace and Surveyor Workspace

MAR 1257 Problem Application of the Section 245 Certificate to TA Certification requires user added text to be written to the Certificate Template 1 – RMA / Unit Titles Act - (doc 33KB, accessed from the Forms and other information page), then added as a supporting document to the survey.
MAR 1257 Outcome The agreed fixed text relating to the 245 Certificate has now been added to the template available in the CSL_S07a – Manage TA Certification screen.

MAR 1460 - Allow user to run scripts to allow Layout Sheets to open faster in the background

MAR 1460 Problem Once Diagrams have been defined in Plan Generation/Define Diagrams, the CPGXML file tends to get very large. The size of the file depends on the number of diagrams the user has defined.

When the user attempts to open the Layout Sheets on an e-survey that has many diagrams, the time taken to actually open the Layout Sheets becomes unacceptable to users.

In the past we have had plans that have exceeded 6 hours in opening up the Layout Sheets.
MAR 1460 Outcome When a user selects the check box against Prepare Layout in the Plan Generation tab (in CSL_S02 – Manage Survey Transaction screen), they will be prompted with a message that informs them that a request will be created to perform layout sheet preparation:

When users select ok to this message the plan will remain open and the script will only commence once the plan has been closed.

Please check your online message of the script outcome to ensure it was successful.

If users wish to cancel the script, then before they close the plan down, they simply select the check box again. This will cancel any request created. No message appears if users choose to cancel the script.

MAR 11114 - New Plan Generation Tab – Generate Plan button

MAR 11114 Problem Formerly the 'Generate Plan' button was located in the CSL_S02 Manage Survey Transaction screen under the 'Submit' tab. In preparation for the Offline Plan Generation, we have moved the button to access Plan Generation to a new tab called 'Plan Generation'.
MAR 11114 Outcome To access Plan Generation users should now select the 'Plan Generation' tab and then select the 'Generate Plan' button.

Users will notice that the only active button in this form is 'Generate Plan'. To the right of this button is an active checkbox called 'Prepare Layout' (see MAR 1460 release notes for details on this).

Two new group boxes that will be of interest to the user are 'Latest plan is' status which will, for now, always show as 'Online'.

The other group box is 'Online Plan Data'. This is where users will access the Plan Generation screens to prepare their plans.

Once a user has performed edits and saved the information in Define Diagrams, Maintain Diagram Layers or Layout Sheets, when the user exits Plan Generation the user will be able to view a Last Saved <datetime> and <userid> against the Generate Plan button (in the Plan Generation tab).

If a user goes into Capture after accessing Plan Generation, when the focus is put back on the Plan Generation tab, the user will see a new message against the 'Online' status (in the Plan Generation tab).

This message will help users realise that they still need to access Plan Generation and update their plan images.

NOTE: The inactive buttons in this screen will not be available to users until the Offline Plan Generation functionality has been released.
