Understanding Fees Report Changes

In Release 2.9, a change was made to Fees Reports that are generated in Landonline to allow the report to be generated by client reference and/or transaction Id, in addition to the previous options.

With these two features enabled, there are changes to the default settings that you need to be aware of.

The default settings for fee charges in Landonline are now:

  1. The submitting primary contact will now only be charged for the post registration search fees
  2. The conveyancing professional will be charged for the registration fees
  3. For an in-house dealing, all fees for the dealing will be recorded against the conveyancing professional responsible for the first instrument in the dealing
  4. Client references are now listed in chronological order rather than in alphabetical order.

While the fee splitting functionality is working within Landonline and is represented in your Fees Report, this change did not take effect on the invoices as planned. We are working to change this for the next invoicing cycle. However, for the current cycle (1 June - 15 June) , you will need to utilise previous practise.

In light of these changes, you may need to use alternative searches to reconcile your invoices.

Some suggested options are listed in the e-search User Guide with step by step instructions available for each option.

We suggest you look through these options – particularly the note at the bottom of this section.

Options include:

  1. Search by User
  2. Search by Firm
  3. Search by Client Reference
  4. Search by Transaction Id (dealing number)

Alternatively you may wish to save the details of a report into an Excel spreadsheet by using the 'save as' function. This will then allow you to format and sort the fees report data to suits you best.

Changes to these current default settings are being considered for a future release.
