LandXML Computer Based Training

Introduction

LINZ has designed the LandXML Computer Based Training tool (CBT) as a step by step tutorial and reference guide for new and existing users of e-survey wanting to check a topic or refresh their memory of a process.  The LandXML CBT is available on DVD – no special programmes are required.

14 Modules

There are 14 modules in the LandXML CBT, each starting with a description of what the module covers, the steps you follow and finishing with an explanation of what the user has covered.   Users can pause at any point, rewind, fast-forward or repeat an entire section.

The fourteen modules are:

  1. Tour of Workspace
  2. Creating surveys
  3. Importing LandXML files into surveys
  4. Viewing spatial data
  5. Adding survey references to surveys
  6. Editing disturbed marks
  7. Editing marks with no purpose details
  8. Editing marks with incomplete mark references
  9. Checking boundaries
  10. Edit traverse
  11. Create an arc and survey boundaries
  12. Check imported parcels
  13. Manual pre-validation
  14. Linking CT references

The CBT contains links to the Landonline website for further information, including links to the e-survey User Guide.

Each of the steps in the CBT takes approximately half to three quarters of an hour to complete, depending on how the quickly the user works through the modules.
