What is Offline Plan Generation?

The Offline Plan Generation (OPG) application gives surveying professionals the ability to create plan layouts and diagrams outside of Landonline. Surveyors can work on plans at their own convenience, no longer dependent on establishing an internet connection to Landonline.

OPG has three components:

  • OPG application
  • Direct and indirect data export/import
  • File Transfer Service

OPG application

OPG is an independent application you can install on your computer to prepare survey plans from survey capture data downloaded from Landonline. It allows surveyors to work with plan data that has been exported from Landonline.

OPG provides surveyors with the option to define user diagrams and perform plan layout work while disconnected from Landonline. Plan layouts generated in one system can be edited in the other, but you must be connected to Landonline to export plan data to use in OPG.

Once finished, the plan layout data can then be imported back into Landonline to allow submission of the cadastral dataset.

Direct and indirect data export/import

To commence working with a plan offline, you must first export the required data (i.e. an OPG package) from Landonline.

Once the package is exported, you can open this file in the OPG application to define additional user diagrams and complete layout plan sheets for the e-survey offline.

When you are ready, you can import the package back into Landonline and generate new plans.

There are two ways to export and import plan data:

  • Direct method
  • Indirect method

The direct method will transfer the data to or from your computer while you are connected to Landonline.

The indirect method uses the File Transfer Service (FTS) as a temporary repository for the packages being transferred, i.e. you will need to download exported packages from the FTS, and upload them to the FTS so they can automatically be imported back into Landonline.

File Transfer Service

To upload and download packages, you will need to log in to this service with your Landonline user name and password. You will also require your current Landonline digital certificate installed on the computer that you are using to access this site.
