We have been one of the fortunate companies that, up until 3 weeks ago, were experiencing very few connection issues. There were only one or two disconnections per month and the general speed throughout LandOnline was comparable to that of a locally run drafting package.
However three weeks ago, due to upgrading of Xtra services, the internet connection we were using was going out of date and we needed to upgrade to another system. This was done and we started to experience consistently slow connection speeds (waiting up to 30 seconds for text to move in Plan Generation at times).
Our new connection had a download speed of 2Mbps so we were sure it wasn’t the speed that was the issue, however, after consultation with our IT personnel they suggested that it wasn’t the download speed that was the issue, it was the upload speed.
We found that on our old connection had had an upload speed of 512Kbps and our new one only 128Kbps. We have now upgraded our connection with Xtra to a 512Kbps upload speed and we are again experiencing very few connection issues and the speed within LandOnline is back to ‘normal’.
I hope that this may be of use to some of the firms that are experience connection issues.
