Exception request – when to raise
When to raise an Exception Request
If you are unsure whether to raise an exception request, call e-survey specialist support on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 2.
Raise an Exception Request when you encounter any of the following circumstances
- A geometry error message appeared when you attempted to access Plan Generation
- You were not able to link parcels due to an error message indicating multiple line IDs in the underlying topology
- Captured irregular boundaries are causing geometry errors
- Thin parcels (eg. easements) are causing geometry errors
- Data is flipping upon itself while you are linking marks
- Complex movement of nodes or complex lines require splitting.
- An irregular line requires splitting
- A node requires moving (working in non-SDC areas)
- There is missing or incorrect line-work in Landonline.
To enable LINZ staff to resolve the problem as efficiently as possible, please ensure you follow these steps before raising an Exception Request:
- Unlink all boundary marks, including any Placeholders used.
- Keep all non boundary/Witness/PRMs linked except where a Landonline mark clearly appears in the wrong position then leave unlinked).
- Unlink parcels.
- Refresh the spatial window. If the captured data does not shift away from the previously linked mark position after spatial window has been refreshed, contact e-survey specialist support on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 2.
- Ensure you include any LINZ Customer Support call numbers relating to this e-survey and your notations clearly outline what is wrong and what is required in the Exception Request before submitting it.
