Information for searchers of the Land Titles Register and Cadastre
Changes to LINZ business operations in Processing Centres
As we move towards 100% electronic lodgement, there will be changes to LINZ services and business operations provided by Processing Centres. Public counters will close during the 2008/09 financial year. It is proposed that Processing Centres in Hamilton and Christchurch will become the primary centres for LINZ processing with the remaining centres winding down over time, after 100% electronic lodgement comes into effect.
Access to land information following completion of the 100% e-lodgement programme
The great majority of survey plan and land title searches are already conducted using e-search and e-search plus.
People wanting copies of titles or survey plans can:
- Purchase a licence to use e-search or e-search plus.
- Request copies through a third-party supplier.
- Order copies through LINZ's Land Record order form.
Customer telephone enquiries typically answered by processing staff will continue to be handled in the current manner, supplemented by more support online and by phone through our Customer Support team.
We will ensure that the public continue to have access to LINZ land information, and will enhance the current Skylight ordering facility. We will also consult widely on the strategy for handling core paper records.
About e-search
If you require regular access to land information, you may wish to purchase a licence to use Landonline e-search or e-search plus, both of which:
- Are used by land professionals including surveyors, lawyers, and conveyancers.
- Are used to search New Zealand's land information database.
- Provide access to the titles register, survey data and supporting documents.
In addition, e-survey plus users can search and view spatial survey data.
