UNIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN SUFFIXES

Staged unit development plans are assigned letter suffixes to distinguish between the stages of the plan that all have the same LT or DP survey number.

Landonline automatically assigns suffixes on creation of the survey header and maintains the suffixes as various stages are processed from allocation of the number through submission, approval and deposit. The suffixes are allocated so as to meet the following requirements:

  • The most recently deposited stage is a DP with no suffix. This allows titles to refer to the survey and units on the survey without including or changing suffixes.
  • The most recently pre-allocated stage is an LT with no suffix.
  • The current Proposed Unit Development (PUD) plan has a suffix of A. Initially this will be the Proposed Unit Development plan that is submitted with the first stage. If a Substituted PUD plan is later submitted, approved and deposited, this will be allocated the suffix A and, on deposit of the Substituted PUD, the original PUD will be allocated the next available letter suffix.
  • If a unit stage is withdrawn before approval, the survey is removed from Landonline except for the header data. The suffix allocated to that stage will not be reused at a later stage.

For this automated suffixing system to work correctly, it is important the surveyor correctly identifies the type of survey (PUD, 1st stage, Substituted PUD, Unit Stage, Final Stage) at the time that the survey header is completed and a plan number is allocated. It is also imperative that no suffix is entered in the 'Previous Unit Plan Stage' field. This field should only contain the LT/DP number (i.e. DP 12345). If an error is made in this part of the process, it is extremely difficult to resolve the resulting problems.
