SURVEY CONVERSION
Traverse Observations
A number of traverse observations and ties to the boundaries and control
have been captured to build a strong network to coordinate marks and maximise
the number of SDC marks. Overall, only a small proportion of traverse
data has been captured.
This typically includes observations (and relevant traverse marks):
- to connect the boundary observation network to the NZGD2000 control
marks (usually 5th order)
- to connect the boundary observation network across roads (particularly
intersections) and other gaps in the network
- to bridge areas of geometrical weakness, such as where boundaries
have not been converted (including irregular boundaries), or where nodes
are close together but not connected.
