OCCUPATION

In an e-survey, occupation details are provided in the form of a supporting document, rather than as structured survey data. This type of supporting document is called an Occupation Diagram. Any observations to occupation should not be included in the structured survey dataset, except where the occupation also serves as a boundary mark.

An Occupation Diagram (a TIF image) could consist of a computer generated diagram, a hand drafted diagram, a sketch, a clear field note, or any other format that meets the Surveyor-General's requirements for depiction and readability. This would typically include unambiguous identification of the boundary, parcels, and relevant survey marks. Preferably, orientation has north at the top of the page. The details can be shown on more than one sheet, and may be provided as separate supporting documents if required.

These diagrams will be automatically included in the Digital Survey Plan image generated as part of the e-survey. They are viewable by users through the data enquiries windows.
