LEAST SQUARES ADJUSTMENT
In Landonline, least squares adjustment is used for the
following purposes:
- Adjustment of geodetic control and generation of geodetic coordinates.
This is essentially the same as before Landonline, with
least squares being a standard geodetic tool.
- Automated validation of cadastral surveys. Automated adjustments are
run which check the internal accuracy of the survey, how well it fits
any SDC coordinates, and the strength of the survey network. The reports
from these adjustments are available to surveyors via the pre-validation
reports.
- Manual validation of cadastral surveys. LINZ staff may investigate
further if the automated validation adjustments require clarification.
Network adjustments of approved cadastral surveys and other survey data
to integrate the new survey into the network, generate authoritative
coordinates and orders and assign these coordinates SDC status where
they meet the accuracy standards.
