FIRM AND USER MANAGEMENT [System Manager]

Business Practice

It is recommended one person within each firm act as the System Manager. The System Manager will require both the System Manager Profile and the System Manager Privilege. This allows the user to access the System Maintenance screens to maintain firm and user preferences, and change details.

LINZ will need to allocate the System Manager Profile to any user within the firm who may wish to act as the System Manager. LINZ also need to allocate the System Manager Privilege to at least one of the users set up with the System Manager Profile. The user with the System Manager Profile and Privilege can then allocate a System Manager Privilege to any user within the firm, but it is only the user with both the Profile and Privilege who will have access to System Maintenance screens.

If the firm has offices in more than one town or city, decide how many firms are registered in Landonlineand how they are set up. For example:

  • A firm exists in Auckland and Wellington. Choose to have one firm registered in Landonline and a pool of licenses all users can choose from, or
  • Each location is registered as a firm in Landonline and users are associated to each firm by location and each office location has their own pool of licenses users can choose from.

A user who is a sole practitioner has to be associated with a firm to use Landonline. The LINZ System Administrator associates users to firms. Contractors (users who work for more than one firm) must be associated with all firms who they work for.
