DATAFLOW

A key principle supporting Landonline is digital dataflow.

Landonline Stage One initiated this capability by creating a structured and digital internal LINZ process. Paper documents (Survey Plans and other documents) are scanned upon receipt and all subsequent LINZ processors are based on these digital images and subsequent structured digital datasets.

Landonline Stage Two extends this capability significantly by creating a digital interface that allows surveyors to create digital datasets, shifting the focus from paper plan production. The smart data that is represented statically on a plan can now be intelligently incorporated into a master data-set that represents the current cadastre.

Landonline Stage Two creates further digital dataflow capability with the utilisation of LandXML as the data exchange format standard. The wealth of useable information has significantly expanded with the ability to take quality information from Landonline and then use that as the base for projects, whether they are cadastral or for other purposes.

The diagram below indicates the progression from the historical dataflow in a manual environment through to a solution representing the use of LandXML to provide a complete digital data cycle.
