ADOPTION OF LANDONLINE DATA

Landonline holds a significant amount of survey data including observations, marks, geodetic control and parcels. This information can be used in the creation of new e-surveys.

Landonline retains information from the conversion of the LINZ DCDB from subsequent survey conversion or from new surveys that have been processed through Landonline.

Where a new e-survey requires adopted information from an approved plan Landonline should be the preferred source if the required data is in Landonline. If the data is not in Landonline or if the data in Landonline is validated and found to be incorrect, the data should be captured directly from the original survey. The use of existing information will, in almost all cases where it is available, speed up the process of adoption and validation of the adopted data.

Information can be adopted from Landonline into an e-survey using:

  • LandXML
  • the Spatial Window; or
  • using a text screen for marks only.

Other topics discussing adoption of Landonline data are:

  • Adopt observation sequence
  • Balance Parcels
  • Irregular Boundaries; and
  • LandXML process.
