Extended hours for e-dealing lodgement from 1 July
Conveyancing customers’ request for longer hours to lodge e-dealings has been granted, and will take effect from 1 July 2010.
e-dealing lodgement hours will be from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, extended from the current 9am to 4pm. LINZ’s 0800 Customer Support will provide technology, digital certificate and service support for both e-dealing and e-search during these extended hours.
General Manager Customer Services Jan Pierce is thrilled to be able to offer conveyancers more time to do their work.
“Since the move to 100% e-lodgement, customers have told us there’s a greater reliance on being able to immediately update the register,” says Jan.
“LINZ has always been cognisant of the pressure imposed on conveyancers by the 4pm close off on a Friday. We’re very pleased to alleviate this pressure by extending registration until 7pm.”
The New Zealand Law Society was consulted on the proposal to extend the hours for e-dealing lodgement. Relevant legislation, Landonline terms and conditions, and website information will be updated to reflect this change.
An email will be sent to all Landonline customers advising them of the increased
hours for e-dealing lodgement, and changes to Landonline terms and conditions, closer to the time.

Countdown to Release 3.4
Landonline Release 3.4 is on track for 24 May 2010. As advised in the March edition of Landwrap, this release contains changes to Landonline to accommodate the Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010.
Manager Customers Kerri Osborne is confident the majority of surveyors will be ready for the new Rules.
“We’ve been regularly communicating transition and other Rules related information to the surveying community. Most responders to a recent questionnaire indicated they’ve read and understood these communications, and feel ready for 24 May.”
If surveyors do still want assistance, or have any queries, send an email to newcadastralrules@linz.govt.nz.
“For conveyancers, a Memorandum of Priority can now be included in a new title dealing due to screen improvements, and some of the Landonline business rules have been improved to give clearer prompts,” says Kerri.
See article Landonline Release 3.4 overview for more information about the changes.

Proposed new product and service fees – update
As advised in the February edition of Landwrap, proposed new fees for survey and title products and services are expected to take effect from 1 July 2010.
The proposed new fees schedule is currently awaiting Cabinet sign-off, which is the final step in the approval process. Following Cabinet sign-off, the new fees will be gazetted one month before taking effect.
We will send the fees schedule out to all Landonline customers by email when it is finalised in May.

Regulatory
New Rules finalised, interpretation guide part 2 published
The Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010 have been finalised (gazetted 15 April) and take effect from 24 May 2010 in conjunction with Landonline Release 3.4.
In preparing the Rules for publication, some amendments to the interim version (published August 2009) have been made to clarify the intent of the Rules. These amendments arose in response to questions from surveyors or where development of the interpretation guide revealed unintended consequences or ambiguity.
A copy of the final Rules, and the summary of corrections and amendments, were posted out to all licensed cadastral surveyors earlier this month, and are also available on the LINZ website.
Interpretation guide – Part 2
Part 2 of the interpretation guide to the Rules is now available online. Part 2 covers rules 8–12 relating to cadastral survey datasets (CSDs). Part 1 covers rules 1–7, 13–15 and dispensations.
We would appreciate your comments on the interpretation guide for future versions. A feedback form is provided for this purpose.
The guide will be updated periodically therefore it is important to refer to the LINZ website for the most up-to-date version. An update to Part 1 is expected to be published next month.
Dispensations
Any dispensations issued pursuant to the 2002/2 Rules will lapse when the new Rules come into effect. Dispensations to the new Rules, pursuant to section 47(5) of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002, can be requested.
