Don’t leave title corrections to the last minute
Remember to check that title details are correct before creating an e-dealing and preparing the instruments.
Complete searching well in advance of settlement. If you think a title contains an error, don’t leave it to the last minute to contact LINZ.
Use the tools at your disposal to request a correction to the Register. The quickest way to have a title correction investigated is to use the following Title Related Requests from Workspace:
- Titles - Correction
- Titles - Correction Prevents Registration
Use the ‘Titles – Correction Prevents Registration’ request type if the error is going to prevent settlement.
Benefits of creating Title Related Requests from your Workspace are threefold:
- Your Workspace Tree will indicate when the request has been completed
- It will be dealt with by LINZ quicker than if you telephone
- You can choose the correct type of request
