Release 3.2 successfully implemented
Landonline Release 3.2 was implemented as planned on Monday, 25 May 2009. This release contained enhancements for all Landonline customers, as well as enhancements specific to conveyancers and surveyors.
"The successful implementation of this release is attributable to the cooperation of our Landonline customers as well as the expertise of LINZ and our suppliers," says Robyn Nicholl, Landonline Services Owner.
"In particular, our campaign to get customers to update their contact details in Landonline prior to the release went well. It was important that these details were up to date to ensure that the new notifications system was implemented smoothly."
If you haven't yet updated your individual or firm contact details in Landonline (via My Details), you can still do so. You will not receive Landonline notices by email if your email address is incorrect. See the instructions on how to change your contact details on this website.
Detailed information on changes to Landonline for Release 3.2, including known issues, is available in the Landonline Systems Updates section on this website.
Partial waiver of the titles resubmission fee lifted
The fee for electronic resubmissions for Lodge with Image transactions has been reinstated to $31. Following Release 3.1, the fee for all electronic titles resubmissions was reduced to $13.
The $31 fee for a resubmission of a Lodge with Image was partially waived to match the Lodge with Template $13 fee until Release 3.2.
The reduced fee allowed customers time to become familiar with the system.

Landonline unavailable weekend of 6-7 June
Landonline and Customer Support will be unavailable during the weekend of 6-7 June to implement the Landonline infrastructure upgrade, subject to testing.
This means that Landonline will not be available on Saturday 6 June. Landonline and Customer Support will resume normal service from 7am on Monday 8 June.
See article New infrastructure for Landonline - update in this edition of Landwrap for more information about the upgrade.
If you have any queries, please contact Customer Support on 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463).

New infrastructure for Landonline – update
As advised in the April edition of Landwrap, LINZ will be implementing a Landonline infrastructure upgrade during June 2009. Essentially, this will entail an upgrade to the Citrix servers that host the Landonline application.
The upgrade will be implemented during the weekend of 6-7 June, which means that Landonline and Customer Support will not be available on Saturday 6 June. All Landonline customers will be migrated across to the new servers during June.
Change to the logon fields
From 8 June, there will be a slight change to the logon fields. Customers will no longer need to enter their username (i.e. user Id) as the username field will recognise it from their Digital Certificate. This will make it impossible to logon as anyone other than the user of the Digital Certificate.
The environment will remain secure as the system authenticates the user through the Digital Certificate and logging on still requires a password.
The screen shot below shows what the new logon screen may look like. Please note that it is indicative only and the final screen may look slightly different.

Note that there is no change to the Landonline application and customers will use it in the usual way.
As with any change to Landonline, the above dates are subject to further successful testing. Part of this testing includes the successful implementation of the new logon page, which will be trialled with our pilot volunteers prior to 8 June.

Changes to 0800 Customer Support
From 1 July 2009, LINZ will be making some changes to its Landonline 0800 Customer Support model.
0800 Customer Support hours of business
Since inception of the extended hours of availability and support for Landonline, low customer demand for telephone support has been experienced, and the trend is that call volumes are continuing to decline.
Therefore, LINZ will offer 0800 support for Landonline between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday from 1 July. This means that 0800 support will no longer be available from 7pm–9pm weekdays or on Saturdays.
Landonline's hours of availability remain unchanged.
LINZ consulted with the New Zealand Law Society, New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, and the Institute of Cadastral Surveyors in making this change.
0800 ONLINE menu structure
When the change of hours commences on 1 July, we will update the 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) menu structure accordingly. As the final milestone for 100% electronic lodgement was reached in February, the option of manual lodgement will be removed.
The new caller prompt structure will be as follows:

Main menu options

1
e-dealing

2
e-survey & TA e-certification

3
e-search

4
Landonline application

5
Topo/Hydro/Geographic Board and place names

6
Finance enquiries

7
General enquiries

Sub menu off Option 6

1
Payments from LINZ

2
Invoices from LINZ

Sub menu off Option 7

1
For general information

2
For information on how to get a copy of a title

Any automatic prompts programmed into your telephone will need to be changed from 1 July to reflect the new structure.

My Messages 'housekeeping'
From 1 July 2009, LINZ will automatically delete any messages older than three months from the 'My Messages' folder in Landonline customers' Workspace.
As advised in article Downsize your messages in Landonline in the March 2008 Landwrap, the number of messages in your 'My Messages' folder directly impacts how fast you can retrieve and open messages, and takes up space on the Landonline database.
LINZ consulted with the New Zealand Law Society and the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors in making this change.

Regulatory News
New Rules for Cadastral Survey to come into force
The new Rules for Cadastral Survey are planned to come into force in May 2010.
This timeframe will allow changes to be made to Landonline to support the new Rules. This date should also provide sufficient time for surveyors to adjust their processes to help ensure surveys undertaken before that date can comply with the new Rules if finally lodged after that date.
During the next few months, LINZ will be preparing a series of seminars that will describe the significant changes in the new Rules. Note that as a result of the consultation, the final Rules include significant differences to those that were proposed in 2007.
The Rules themselves, and information about the changes, will be published nearer the time of these seminars.
