New TA e-certification tips and hints

To help Territorial Authorities (TAs) find the information they need, we have set up a new TA e-certification tips and hints section on this website. It contains links to previously published topics and will be updated continually as new items are raised.

As a result of customer feedback, the following tip and hint published in last month's Landwrap has been revised.

Can I attach certification packages as supporting documents in Landonline, and can consent notices be bundled i.e. more than one condition on a certification?

TAs can attach certification packages as supporting documents in Landonline from their own Workspace. However, these are restricted to 'Schedule Memorandum', 'Territorial Authority (TA) Certificate' and 'Territorial Authority (TA) Certification Plan Image' at stages prior to survey approval. After survey approval, only a 'Territorial Authority (TA) Certificate' may be attached.

LINZ staff can add supporting documents of any type at any time up until deposit of the survey, including adding consent notices as a bundle. LINZ does not monitor, check for correctness, restrict or limit the use of this online facility. As each TA has their own individual business requirements, it is up to the TA to manage their supporting documentation needs.

Consent Notice (CONO) vs Sec 224 (c) CN Certificate.

Consent Notice (CONO) vs Sec 224 (c) CN Certificate

The Consent Notice (CONO) and 224(c) CN certificates should not be confused in Landonline.

It is a requirement of the Registrar-General of Land that a Consent Notice (CONO) must be registered as an Instrument and must bear hand drawn signatures. Therefore, regardless of the facility to attach supporting documents in Landonline, a survey will not Deposit without the original signed hard copy.

The 224(c) CN certificate however, is available as an online template for Territorial Authorities (TAs) and surveyors to use. It can be signed digitally and may be duplicated within a Certification package if a TA user requires this.

Manage TA Certification

LINZ does not monitor, restrict or limit the use of this online facility.

The 224(c) CN certificate can be attached as content of a TA Certification Package. Even if the Consent Notice (CONO) is emailed to LINZ for attachment by LINZ staff, a hard copy hand-signed Consent Notice is still required to be lodged as an Instrument for the issue of titles.
