Licenses
Users of any Landonline service, such as e-search, e-dealing, or e-survey, need to obtain licences for the services they require.
A licence is applied for by firms. At the time of application the firm will be prompted to provide the names of the people who will be using the Landonline functions available under the licence.
A licence covers as many people as the firm nominates, and each licence only allows one connection at a time with Landonline. Firms which require several people to be using Landonline services concurrently need to apply for as many licences as will suit their needs.
Firms are provided with a credit account with Landonline at the same time as they sign-up. This account will be used to charge firms for fees incurred for searching and lodgements made in Landonline. Full information about fees is covered under Pricing.
Digital Certificates
The staff members who have been nominated by firms to use Landonline must each have individual Digital Certificates.
Digital certificates are the bedrock security of the Landonline system. They are personal to the individual user and Landonline's functions cannot be accessed without them.
More about Digital Certificates and how they work is covered under Security.
Access
Once a firm has applied for a licence and individual users have received and installed their Digital Certificates, they will be able to access and use Landonline.
The level at which staff can access the system is determined by the firm - bearing in mind relevant regulatory requirements.
For example, a legal firm may have some staff who only have e-search service access, while other members of the firm may have e-dealing access as well. In addition the firm can control specific privileges such as the right to "Certify and Sign" transactions.
